Learn hand-throwing, sculpting, and glazing in a welcoming studio community. Classes for all skill levels.
Founded in 2018, Claycraft is a contemporary ceramic studio dedicated to sharing the transformative power of hand-throwing and sculpting. Our 3,200-sq-ft studio in downtown Portland houses 12 professional wheels, 3 hand-building stations, and a wood-fired kiln. We serve over 200 students monthly, from absolute beginners taking their first six-week intro course to experienced potters renting studio time.
Our instructors—all working ceramicists with 10+ years of experience—prioritize technique, creative expression, and community. Whether you're seeking stress relief, a new hobby, or a deeper artistic practice, we provide a judgment-free space to explore clay.
Every Friday evening, our open studio nights welcome artists of all levels to create, collaborate, and connect over coffee and pottery talk. We believe ceramics belong in everyone's hands.
